Basis of the Ranking
Ten reputed rankings have been taken into account. These were:

India Today 2010 Rankings
India Today 2009 Rankings
Outlook 2011 Rankings
Outlook 2010 Rankings
Outlook 2009 Rankings

QS-Asia Survey
Points were awarded to each college included in these rankings as per their position in each. Equal weights have been given to these rankings. The point system has considered average score for each time a college did not participate in the survey. This approach led to an impartial approach towards those colleges who had got unseemingly fit high rank in one or two rankings and fell back elsewhere. Also, some highly reputed colleges participated in only few surveys and have thus, by the overall analysis of the data have been placed accordingly.

The reason for coming out with Aglasem Rankings 2011 was the debate we observed in the rankings published by various surveys. There are two main causes behind this:
There have been certain institutes whose high ranks in these surveys led to many raised eyebrows.
Also, the absence of many good colleges in the rankings has caused ridicule of the surveys.
The reason behind each of the two cases might simply be because each survey ranks on different criterion. Some only look at placements, some look at only infrastructure, some look at only intake; and at times some colleges miss out on participating in the surveys. Thus, a thorough look at the surveys, picking the best and most trusted among them all, data analysis of each led to the Aglasem Rankings 2011.

The unbiased approach of simply awarding points to the colleges as per record of span of three years, by data collected by highly trustworthy surveys of India Today, Outlook, Data Quest, DNA, Squamble, QS-Asia has ultimately resulted in the following rankings.
