NSIT Admissions 2013: Counselling and Admission Procedure

COUNSELLING FEE

To participate in counselling, every eligible candidate, irrespective of his category, will have to deposit a nonrefundable counselling fee of ` 1000/- in any one of the following manners:

(a) In Cash: In any branch of Andhra Bank through a duly filled in Challan Form available on counselling website www.nsit.nic.in. To locate the nearest branch of Andhra Bank use the following URL:- http://andhrabank.in/english/BranchLocator.aspx
OR
(b) By Account Transfer: Through NEFT (National Electronic Fund Transfer) by visiting NEFT enabled branch of any bank and fill up an electronic remittance slip using the following details:

i Beneficiary Name DIRECTOR, NSIT, BE ADMISSION
ii Beneficiary Bank and  Branch Name ANDHRA BANK, NSIT, SECTOR-3, DWARKA, NEW DELHI
iii 15 digit Bank  Account  Number 133010100008805
iv IFSC Code ANDB0001330

OR
(c) By Internet Banking: Account Transfer through NEFT using Internet Banking by using the details as mentioned at (b) above.

ONLINE REGISTRATION

Online Registration facility will be available from 27.06.2013 to 30.06.2013. The registration may be done as follows:

1) Having paid the counselling fee, the candidate should visit institute website http://www.nsit.nic.in where he is required to select the link “NEW REGISTRATION” displayed on the webpage and enter the following parameters correctly:

  • JEE Main Roll No.
  • JEE Main Application Form Number
  • Name of the Candidate
  • Date of Birth
  • Nationality
  • 12th Class Pass Status
  • Counseling Fee Details

2) On successful verification of the above details by the system, another screen will be displayed. The Candidate is required to fill in his other details.
3) After successful registration, the candidate will get a confirmation message on the screen.
4) Immediately thereafter, the Candidate is required to fill in the choices of branches of B.E. Program of the Institute.
5) After successful registration, the following modules will be available on the website in the Candidate’s Login Account:

Registration Details Displays all details filled by the candidate.
Choice Fill To fill the choices.
Opted choice Displays the choices filled by the candidate.
Edit details To edit Registration details till 30.06.2013.
Choice available Displays Available Choices according to the  category of the candidate.
Change password Candidate can change his password.
Allotment Letter Will be available only when a seat is allotted  after declaration of result.

IMPORTANT

a) It is in the interest of the Candidate to remember his password and keep it confidential to avoid misuse for which NSIT/NIC shall not be responsible in any manner.
b) Candidate has to take the printout of the registration form and get it attested either from the Principal of the School/College last attended or from a Gazetted Officer and submit the same at the time of counselling/admission in the Institute.
c) After closing of registration on 30.06.2013, a Candidate has to take a “printout” of the choices filled, self attest it and submit it at the time of Counselling/admission in the Institute.
d) The Edit option is available only up to 30.06.2013.  No further rectification will  be permissible in the details submitted by the candidate, which will  automatically freeze after 30.06.2013.

ALLOTMENT OF SEATS
Besides other parameters, the allotment of seat to a registered eligible candidate in various phases/rounds, except for “Open House counselling cum Admission” (if any), will be made on the basis of the choices filled in by the candidate.

RESULT DECLARATION
On the date of result declaration, a candidate can take printout of provisional seat allotment letter (if a seat is allotted) after logging into his account on the NSIT website: http://www.nsit.nic.in.

REPORTING AT NSIT FOR ADMISSION
Candidates are required to report at the NSIT on the specified date and time (as per the Counselling schedule notified from time to time on the website http://www.nsit.nic.in) along with requisite admission fee in the form of a Demand Draft / Banker’s Cheque and original & attested copies of documents (for documents, see Documents Required). If a candidate does not report on the specified date and time along with all the requisite documents, his allotted seat shall be cancelled and the candidate shall not have any claim on the allotted seat, whatsoever.

NOTE:
a) It is mandatory to produce the original documents at the time of admission and registration in the Institute.
b) Save herein after as otherwise provided for an “OPEN HOUSE COUNSELLING CUM ADMISSION” to be held, if any, if a candidate does not turn up and/or refuses to take admission in the allotted branch at the time of admission, he will not be considered in next phases/rounds of admission. Only admitted candidates will be considered for upgradation of branches in the subsequent phases / rounds of admission.
c) If a candidate fails to submit the requisite Caste Certificate (SC/ST# /OBC) at the time of admission, due to any reason whatsoever, his offer for admission under reserved category shall stand cancelled/withdrawn forthwith. However, such candidate may opt (one time only) for consideration of his candidature for the allotment of seats under the general/open Category in the next round/phase of allotment of seats. His request shall be considered only as per his merit and if he is otherwise found eligible in the General/Open Category and subject to availability of seats.
d) A candidate, who has been admitted to a course other than his first choice, will automatically be upgraded, as per his merit in JEE Main 2013 to a course of his higher preference as indicated in his online application subject to availability of seat. The upgradation of branches shall be simultaneously available with the declaration of results from time to time.
e) Freezing: In case, a candidate desires to continue in the branch allotted to him at the time of admission or subsequently during upgradation, then he can freeze his branch by giving a request letter in prescribed Proforma (Annexure-II) to the Chairman, BE Admission Committee 2013-14 on the day of his admission/upgradation of results of allotment/upgradation

OPEN HOUSE COUNSELLING CUM ADMISSION
If any seat remains vacant after fourth round of second phase of admission, the Institute may hold an “Open House Counselling cum Admission” on 31.08.2013 or any other date decided by the Admission Committee. All the registered candidates are eligible to participate in this round of admission. Choices filled by a candidate at the time of online registration will be invalid and seats will be allotted on the basis of merit (i.e. All India Rank of JEE Main 2013) subject to fulfilling of other conditions for admission and availability of seats at that time. Further, there shall be “NO UPGRADATION” of allotted branch on admission under this process.

# Admission under S.T. category in Delhi Region is subject to the final decision of the Government of NCT of Delhi.
