15% of the intake is likely to be filled-in under NRI category as per rules of the Government of Gujarat. Over and above 15% supernumerary seats will be for Persons of Indian Origin (PIO)/ Foreign Nationals (FN) and Children of Indians Working in Gulf Countries (CIWGC) – South East Asia (SEA) as per UGC Rules.
A candidate should have passed qualifying examination of Bachelor of Law -Three Year Programme LL.B. (General) /LL.B. (Special) or LL.B. (Five year Integrated course) from a recognized university with minimum 55% marks or equivalent cumulative grade point index.
Candidates who are appearing in the final year LL.B. Programme may also apply. However, their admission will be subject to the fulfillment of eligibility criteria at the time of admission.
The admission will preferably be based on CLAT 2014 merit.
Candidates are required to appear in the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2014 conducted by National Law University, Raipur. They are also required to fill in the application form of the Institute of Law, Nirma University, in addition to the CLAT 2014 form.
Non CLAT candidates will also be considered for admission, subject to the availability of the seats after admitting the CLAT 2014 candidates. Such candidates are required to appear for a written test followed by personal interview to be conducted by the Institute of Law, Nirma University.
Tuition Fees is Rs. 40,000/- per annum (inclusive of all, except refundable deposits, university fees and students activity fees).
Non Resident Indian (NRI)/Foreign nationals (FN)/ Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) – US$ 7500 per annum or equivalent in Indian Rupees.
CIWGC/SAARC– US$ 5500 per annum or equivalent in Indian Rupees.
The prospectus along with the application form can be obtained directly from the Institute or through authorized centres on payment of Rs. 2000/- (Rs. 3000/- if applying under NRI/PIO/FN/CIWGC-SEA categories). For obtaining the prospectus along with the application form through post, applicants should send a request along with a demand draft of the prescribed fees favouring “Institute of Law, Nirma University” payable at Ahmedabad.
Application form and Prospectus can also be downloaded from our website (www.nirmauni.ac.in/law) and completed forms, along with the prescribed fee through Demand Draft, can be mailed to the following address so as to reach us before the last date (15 June, 2014).
