IIT Roorkee

IIT Roorkee at Uttarakhand is an autonomous statutory body established under the Institutes of Technology Act as amendment made by The Institute of Technology (Amendment) Act, 1963. All the IITs in India are administered by a Council established by the Government of India. The Council is headed by the Minister for Human Resource Development of the Government of India. This council helps in the co ordination among these IITs. Board of Governors administers the activities in that particular IIT to which it belongs. The Board of Governors is headed by the chairman.
