DU MBBS/BDS Admissions 2014 Courses, Institutions and Number of seats
The University conducts MBBS Course in three Medical Colleges i.e. Lady Hardinge Medical College (LHMC), Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC), University College of Medical ciences (UCMS) and BDS Course at Maulana Azad Institute of Dental Sciences (MAIDS). Only female candidates are admitted to LHMC.
Candidates for 15% seats are selected directly by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) based on NEET UG 2014 / AIPMT 2014 conducted by the CBSE, New Delhi as per the directions of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India. [W.P. (C) No. 380/2009 titled Simran Jain vs. Union of India] The University will fill up these seats according to selection made by Directorate General of Health Services.
Govt. of India Nomination (Central Pool Scheme):
In order to be eligible for admission to MBBS/BDS Course for a particular academic year, it shall be necessary for a candidate to obtain minimum of marks at 50th percentile in National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test to MBBS/BDS Course held for the said academic year. However, in respect of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribe, Other Backward Classes, the minimum marks shall be at 40th percentile. In respect of candidates with locomotory disability of lower limbs terms of Clause 2.2.4, the minimum marks shall be at 45th percentile. The percentile shall be determined on the basis of highest marks secured in the All India common merit list in ‘National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test for admission to MBBS/BDS Course.
Provided when sufficient number of candidates in the respective categories fail to secure minimum marks as prescribed in National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test held for any academic year for admission to MBBS/BDS Course, the Central Government in consultation with Medical Council of India may at its discretion lower the minimum marks required for admission to MBBS Course for candidates belonging to respective categories and marks so lowered by the Central Government shall be applicable for the said academic year only.
The candidates nominated by the Government of India will be required to fill-up the application form that can be obtained from the office of the Deputy Registrar, Faculty of Medical Sciences by submitting a Bank Draft/ Bankers Cheque of Rs.750/- (Rs. Seven Hundred Fifty only) for General/ OBC Category and Rs. 550/- (Rs. Five Hundred Fifty only) for SC/ST category as per details given in clause 1.4.
The candidates may apply by submitting application form appended with BOI under the following categories:-
General category (General)
Scheduled Caste category (SC)
Scheduled Tribe category (ST)
Other Backward Classes (OBC)
Children, Widows and Wives of Armed and Para Military Personnel category (CWWAPP)
Physically Handicapped category (PH)
The candidates who are not found eligible under categories (ii) to (vi) of the clause 2.1.4 will be considered under General Category, if otherwise eligible.
