NIFTEM B.Tech 2013: Reservations

1. Reservation for Indian Nationals: The number of seats in the B. Tech. program in NIFTEM, as announced in this admission brochure, shall be strictly adhered to, except for such minor adjustment as may be necessary on account of rounding off of fractions to accommodate reservations, as given below:

i. 27% reservation to Other Backward Class (non creamy layer only)
ii. 15% for candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes.
iii. 7.5% for candidates belonging to the Scheduled Tribes.

Further, 3% seats are reserved (horizontal reservation) for physically challenged (PC) candidates.

2. The physically challenged candidates should have a minimum of 40% disability, provided that the claimant in this category is otherwise capable to pursue the course for which the admission is sought. All physically challenged persons should produce a certificate of their permanent physical disability from a CMO/Civil Surgeon of a District OR Director/Principal or a Professor of a Medical College affiliated to University or an institution of national importance.

3. Due reservation and concessions would be given to Kashmiri migrants as per Government of India Norms provided they clearly mention their category in application form.

4. In case of non availability of applicants from south east countries and wards of Indian worker in Gulf countries the seats reserved for them under foreign student category will be made open to other foreign nationals. Being supernumerary seats these will not be made open to Indian Nationals.

NIFTEM B.Tech 2013: Application Form

Application forms for admission in B. Tech., M. Tech. and Ph. D. Programmes of NIFTEM are to be filled online only, however interested candidates may ask for a print copy of the admission brochure on payment of Rs 350 through demand draft (DD) or in cash. The printed brochure may be requested by post with due payment through DD or from institute reception counter.

No additional payment is required for additional applications for more than one choice in M. Tech. /Ph. D.

Signature of applicant and parents/guardian are mandatory at relevant place of the hard copy under submission to NIFTEM

Online Application Form

Guidelines for Online Filling: The application format is made simple. Applicants will only require to keep a soft copy of his/her pp photo (size below 20 kb in .jpg or .png format) ready before filling up application form. The candidates who are not able to pay application fee online may opt for Demand Draft (DD) option and will be required to keep the demand draft ready to enter desired information on line. Steps for online application are described as follows:

Step 2: Read brochure online/take print/request hard copy on payment from NIFTEM

Step 3: Click the programme of your choice and start entering data online

Step 4: After completion, pay online/opt for DD – Application fee to be paid is Rs 1000 (General/OBC) and Rs 500 (SC/ST)

Step 5: Print application and send it NIFTEM as given below

Candidates are required to take printout of application after completing on line application filling process. Printed application should be sent by registered/speed post/ in person to Head, Admission Cell, NIFTEM, Plot No. 97, Sector 56, HSIIDC Industrial Estate, Kundli – 131 028, District: Sonepat, Haryana, so as to reach at the destination on or before the due date of respective programmes as detailed in this brochure at the end. Print copy must carry a duly pasted passport photo along with signature of the candidate and parents/guardian at appropriate place.

The application must also carry a non-refundable application fee, if not paid online, in form of DD only of Rs 1000 (General/OBC) and Rs 500 (SC/ST). All DD should be in favour of ‘NIFTEM’ payable at SBI, Branch – NIFTEM Campus Kundli (Branch Code 15479).

NIFTEM B.Tech 2013: Eligibility

Educational Qualification: Candidates who have passed their Class 12th Exam or any other qualifying examination in 2011 or 2012; or those who are appearing in their Class 12th Exam in 2013 are eligible. Subject combinations required in the qualifying examination shall be as under: Physics, Mathematics and one of the subjects from Chemistry, Bio-technology, Computer Science, Biology with 50% marks in aggregate of all subjects. Besides a candidate must be appearing in JEE (Main) – 2013.

AGE: Only those candidates whose date of birth falls on or after October 01, 1988 are eligible. However, in the case of Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Physically Challenged (PC) candidates, upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years.

Note 1. A candidate, who gets a compartment in the 10+2 examination held in March/April, 2013 will not be eligible for admission even if he/she clears the same (by appearing in the supplementary examination) before the reporting/ counselling dates.

Note 2. Aggregate percentage of marks in 10+2 or equivalent examination shall be worked out as suggested by the certificate awarding Board/ University/Council. If the Board/University/Council awards grades without providing equivalent percentage of marks on the grade sheet, the candidate, should obtain a certificate from the respective Board/ University/Council specifying equivalent percentage conversion formula, and submit the same at the time of reporting/counselling. In the absence of such certificate, the decision of the Admission Cell regarding his/her eligibility shall be final.

Note 3. The date of birth as recorded in the high school/first Board/Pre-University certificate will be accepted. If the certificate does not mention the date of birth, a candidate must submit along with the application, an authenticated document indicating the date of birth.
